a quick call to tech support was required, but it’s working very well, and stays connected – My office is around a hundred feet from our internet router, so I was getting a poor signal using wi-fi. I found this device, and another one made by the same manufacturer through the Amazon Vine program, ad thought I’d give them a try to see if they wold help. I’ve never used any power line type adapters, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The they arrived, I removed them from the packages and followed the directions, step-by-step. After failing to get the two devices to pair using the directions and trouble shooting guide, I decided it was time to call customer support. I spoke to a technician who told me to ignore the wording in the directions saying not to use the adapters with a power strip, and following his directions, I plugged both into the same strip. Within thirty seconds torso, the units paired. Once that was done, I continued on to moving the devices to where they needed to be. I plugged on directly into the wall outlet near my router, and attached the ethernet cable. The second unit was plugged in within sight of my office, and connected via ethernet cable a wi-fi transmitter. I tried using the second unit in my office, but ran into an issue with the outlet being wired through a sub-panel, which resulted in a greatly reduced signal. Using the second unit through an outlet on the same breaker panel worked perfectly. My speed tests show I’m now connecting at around 4x faster than when I was using the weak wi-fi signal from the router itself, over the great distance. It’s nice to be able to get a much better internet speed, and not have to run a bunch of new ethernet cable through the house and office. I’m very pleased with the product.

Works great for POE cameras – I have several UNIFI cameras that needed POE and ethernet access beyond my CAT 6 run.

Perfect for small house or apartment – I have been using these in various places to test with and have come up with a sort of distance it can travel. It’s distance from the other paired unit seems to be perfect for a small house or apartment where you don’t want to run wires and the speed is pretty good keeping with in I’d say about 30 feet, which is plenty in a an apartment. In a house you might notice less than perfect speeds and also depends on how many electronics you happen to have plugged in also. But over all it works and sure easy to pair up and place pretty much anywhere. If you have a larger home, you might get drops at the farthest ends of the home if you were going from one end to the other with lots of devices plugged into the wall. The POE function works perfectly for my cameras that use POE and getting good speed from them but needed to find the best place to the units.

works good in small apartment or homes. – These work great so long as your router, and both adaptors are on the same electrical circuit. If you meet those criteria, they work great, and you will have nice network speeds. If the power outlets are on a different circuit, and or fuseboxes they might not work at all- this is to be expected though. I would recommend them for apartments or small houses.

    5. K. C (verified owner)

Reliable, easy to install – I got this NexusLink powerline adapter to add to the existing NexusLink powerline network in my home. If you do not already have a NexusLink network set up (i.e., at least two existing NexusLink powerline adapters installed and working), you will need to buy a second one of these to set up your network.

Great for POE security cameras – Although I was initially skeptical about these devices, they proved to work great for my POE security cameras. I tested them for gaming over high speed internet and they performed just so-so. For other internet connections, they worked great. All-in-all, they earned a solid four stars.
