Solved our problems – Love our Monument! We had photos on multiple iPhones and multiple computers. They were scattered, disorganized, and we had no good way to enjoy them. Now with Monument, everything is in one place, sorted automatically by date, and every new photo and video upload automatically. It’s taken all the guesswork out of storing, organizing, and enjoying our family photos! I’d like to see Monument tech support get more efficient though, which is my reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I recently submitted a help ticket for a problem I was having (which they ultimately solved for me, yay!) but it took many days longer than it should have to hear anything back from them. Awesome product though and I highly recommend!

Great Photo Sorting Option – When I first bought this unit, I had very high hopes. Initially, after connecting it to an external hard drive, a computer with pictures on it, and to Mobile devices, it just would not get past the in process, uploading pictures stage. I tried to get in touch with tech support but they never followed up. Initially, I was very frustrated and almost returned the device.

Great opportunity to improve documentation and support – I rarely write a review but after buying this for $169 and not being able to use it, I think I owe it to the community to write. The device is supposedly configured through bluetooth but out of the box it did not work. I had to find for myself that it needed a Firmware update (BTW: documentation is totally lacking and information on their website is really poor). After Firmware update, I was able to set it up through my wife’s iPhone since my Samsung S9 would not connect. I finally got it configured and able to upload photos on iPhone and Samsung; but now, after uploading 2 hrs worth of photos and videos, my Samsung is able to see the device but as soon as the app starts, gives me a message that reads “Can’t connect to device”. Same thing happens through Mac Desktop App. I am all for invention and innovation but there’s a responsibility to buyers.

Really handy photo backup device – I bought this to try and get some order to all my digital photos. At first I didn’t really appreciate what this thing could do. But now it’s so handy. It automatically backs up photos from my phone or iPad. I can access my photos anywhere and download them on another device if I want. It organizes them by date, location, camera. You have to help it with face recognition but it is terrific to have photos organized by people. It takes a long time to upload very large memory cards, I usually do it, and leave it overnight. After a few weeks of using it, I have decades of photos from all different sources finally in on place and in order, and I can access it from anywhere using my phone.

Folder structures, etc, will not carry over, and facial recognition doesn’t recognize everyone (and there’s no way to force it either). I can’t wait till I get caught up on transferring and organizing all my photos, because it’ll be much simpler once I only have to worry about a few photos here and there.
