for the cost of this router I have been very disappointed in it’s functionality – I purchased this modem so as to enhance my wifi and wired internet speed. However, I have not noticed the difference I had hoped for. After haggling with the cable company to enroll this modem to work with their system they had to recode my account to be docsis 3.0 and discovered my account wasn’t as fast as I thought it was. My old modem wasn’t the sole source of slowness. To attempt to relieve this I wanted to connect my wireless devices to the 5GHz channel, but most of my devices won’t even recognize that channel as an option, and the couple that did recognize the 5 GHz channel, were unable to function or stream anything from the internet once I was logged in for that channel. Needles to say, for the cost of this router I have been very disappointed in it’s functionality. Barely noticeable improvements from my ten year old 54 mbps modem. In addition, this modem is quite top heavy and not very stable. It is very easily toppled or pulled off the desk with the slightest brush against the cables. The 2.4 GHz channel is working, thankfully, since that is the only one I can connect to, but overall quite disappointed that a brand new, updated modem did not make appreciable differences in my speed or connectivity.
