Updated review in action – Unboxed today. Does it meet expectations, I think so. Highly venerated by other folks as well. I think it will get the job done.

2 Ports are better than 1, but the sync button though. – Needed something with 2 ports and not going to break the bank. These work and with got most of my previous powerlines to work with it. But what a pain to get the sync button to work properly not only to the two units that come in the box, but with my older/slower powerlines. I eventually got my stuff to sync but it was not simple or working as it should. Hope I never have to try and reset them all again! Speed between the two units is dependent on wiring in your home. When I just had the two units from this kit talking, seems the speed was pretty good. Soon as I added some older/slower units, it has slowed a bit, but does what I need it to do where wifi isn’t available or the signal a bit weak. Overall, I’m satisfied for now. They’ve been up working now for about 3 months and doing ok.

Traded one problem for another – So like most households, I assume the role of tech support typically falls to the biggest gadget enthusiast in the house. That would be me.

Not up to expectations. – The advertised data speed is 1000 MBps put this is quite doubtful. On average, I get about 5 MBps with this device installed which is equal to the slow wifi i was trying to replace. However, on some days it could be much higher on 30Mbps, or lower, up to 2Mbps. However, it is possible that the way that I set it up or the wiring of my home is not optimal for the function of this device. I am sure that this could help some people, but be aware that it is not a magical fix for bad wifi.

Needed a replacement – After several years of use, one of the two stopped working. Was looking to purchase the 1.2 GHz but when we noticed the price drop of the 2 GHz to $79, which was only $7 more than the 1.2, we jumped on it. For us this was a great price point to replace an already great way to extend a network to a gaming computer located in another room on the second floor.
