Returning it but here is why I gave it a good rating – My story is a little different in that I may end up returning the product but I will give it a good rating. Let me explain in hopes that this review will help out other reviewers who have encountered similar problems.

Easy to install. Reliable. – This was so easy to install and set up. Follow the easy directions and you shouldn’t have a problem. I’ve been using this for just over a month now and have had absolutely no connectivity issues or any other issues. Highly recommend.

Simple device with straight forward configuration – Recently purchased this device to save on cable modem router rental charges. Pretty simple and straightforward configuration. Was able to set up the device in short time. Getting speed comparable/little better to was I was getting with the rental device. Good experience with the net gear support staff as well.overall, good experience so far.

Lighting Fast Wireless Speeds, Plenty of Channels Available For Your Needs – The main reason why I upgraded to this modem/router combination is because of the higher bandwidth throughput on this hardware vs. my old stuff. Recently I upgraded to a higher data tier through my ISP (Comcast Cable) to the 200+mbps plan. Even though my old router and cable modem setup was awesome and supported DOCSIS 3.0, I was limited in data throughput capabilities compared to the new data connection I was going to be receiving. A quick lookup on my old equipment verified what the limitations were. As a result, for some time I was operating at an actual much lower bandwidth with my new plan simply because my old equipment was bottle necking. This had to change! And it changed DRASTICALLY after I upgraded to this device.

so far so good – seems every modem you get be it from the provider or on your own, you’ve got 2 years at most before it craps out. my xfinity modem kept losing signal, bought a nice motorolla with rave reviews. started having issues with that one a little after a year, xfinity told me motorolla needed to update it. i’m thinking why, what changed? anyway, after several attempts of being on hold for hours with motorolla just to talk to someone because you can’t update the modem online, or download an update. i bought this. read good reviews and apparently has quick good customer service. we shall see. i still plan on trying to get the motorolla updated that way i have a backup hopefully ready to go.
