How to get the MOST speed from your Gigabit internet (I have Xfinity) – I don’t do reviews often but I want to help my geek friends save days of research and frustration that I went through to finally get the absolute most speed out of my Gigabit internet. There’s some golden nuggets here that you need to know.

So far so good! – After five weeks of heavy use, this modem continues to do exactly what it is supposed to do. It replaces a modem that went dead after nearly fifteen years, and of course we don’t know whether we’ll get another fifteen years from this one, but so far so good. Activation instructions were clear enough, though Xfinity required me to install their app on my smartphone to complete the installation. That’s probably not Netgear’s fault. The modem apparently gets along fine with our Wi-fi router, which is feeding about fifteen devices at times.

Got to spend more money!!!!!!! – Comcast is very happy with my choice because they wouldn’t accept my Moto SkateBoard SB6121 anymore which was OK, till I moved! then it wasn’t OK to switch my service to!!!!!!!!!!!!

NETGEAR fan for years, great cable modem and no monthly fees. UPDATED 2020 – This is an incredible modem when paired arithmetic the NETGEAR Nighthawk X-10 AD7200 router. Basic set up is very simple, a call to one of the supported cable companies and your good to go. Modem gets warm, especially when you got several devices drawing from it. I always mount a small fan on side of my modems to help with heat issues. Been a NETGEAR fan for many years now and this is the first cable modem I have ever owned made by them. Many Motorola modems over the years and this one seems to be much better than any of those I have purchased.
