Good switch but runs a bit hot! – I would give it 5 stars but why Netgear designed it with no vents and / or fan kind of worries me. I found out the hard way to never stack this on another piece of equipment since my internet connection kept going down. I found out in case that happened, I would just log into the switch and select reboot and the connection came back up. I have since then repositioned the switch and so far, so good.

Very Impressive! – I really liked this switch. I purchased the GS316EPP model (slightly higher POE budget) but it ended up having a faulty power supply that caused it to power itself down randomly. Netgear support (A+ help by the way) was very helpful and since it happened within the first hour of me using the switch they said to return and repurchase. I needed one ASAP and this GS316EP was available a day quicker (plus I didn’t need the extra POE budget) so I got this model. Overall, it’s basically the exact same just the power supply is a slightly lower output model – but still the same HUGE size brick. LOL it’s HUGE!

8 port is really a 7 port… but meh, it works great – The switch works a treat with PoE security cameras back to NVR with one cable (Hiseeu NVR and cameras). The only down side is there are 8 ports, of which you connect your router to one of them, which leaves 7 ports for devices. Not thrilled about that, I have an 8 channel NVR but can only connect 7 cameras. For *my* application, I would have been better off just getting a true 8 port PoE switch from Hiseeu. If you are okay with the limitations, this switch is solid and reliable. 10/10

Wonderful POE switch which I use for muliple computers and a security camera system – I used another POE switch which did not work for my gig speed, so I got this Netgear. It has POE for the cameras and 1gb speeds for my other computers. The switch puts out per port more than enough for the cameras. Excellent product.

Works exactly as it’s supposed to. – Not much to say about this. I bought two Cisco wireless access points that needed POE. I bought this switch with POE, plugged everything in, and everything just worked. I love when that happens.

Fabulous little switch for not much money – I replaced a more than $1500 Aruba switch with this little device. Ive purchased many of these now for wireless installs (these work REALLY well with Ubiquiti access points) and finally decided to buy one for my network. I have this little switch hooked up to another Aruba (6300F) with a 2x port LACP which works perfectly. I have a couple PoE devices, a 4K TV and a router hooked into this little switch and it works flawlessly. I am a network engineer and architect of more than 20 years and I find the interface to be good, its nearly free of bugs and really is a good buy for the money. One bad thing I would say is the lack of standard protocol support. But, for less than $100 you cant have everything.
