“Easy Peasy” 🙂 Simple to hook up and a great new addition to my setup! – It was so simple to set up, I had to double check after thinking I must have messed something up! *blush* (It happens lol) However, I didn’t. Got it right the first time. 😀 I mainly purchased it to tidy up connections and to also try to use it to hardwire a gaming system. It was an easy and fast set up, and after the fact, I wound up using it for even more connections than I had originally planned due to it’s ease of connecting items to and signal quality. For hardwiring and/or wi-fi use, it most definitely holds a great signal for everything I need it for.

Great Product with One Exception – This is my third switch I am on. They last maybe around a year. But it’s not necessarily the product only lasts a certain amount of time. I have found this product can easily be fried from just a brief power outage. Both times prior the device was plugged into a surge protector. But without fail, it’s like playing the lottery. Eventually it will happen. The worst part is, the device appears to function as normal. Lights flash, everything seems fine, but your internet is out. Not only devices plugged into the switch but also devices connected via wifi to the router.

Basic 1GB unmanaged switch – Affordable GS305 to replace 20 year old Netgear FS105. Backwardly compatible for 10/Base T and 100/Base T. Don’t forget to upgrade your patch cables to CAT-6 or better, to get the full bandwidth from these little units.

Wow What a difference- speed increase! – I was using an old fast ethernet 10/100 switch and thought to myself myself don’t they have a newer one they have to be better and faster right? Well yes these Gigabit switches are the answer and if you are using an old one and you are paying for fast internet you are not getting what you paid for, my download speed went from the high 90’s to 178mb on speed tests! I was amazed and embarrassed I didn’t get this sooner. I am zooming now on my computer and connected devices. If you are even on the fence just get this and upgrade, its easy to not worry but you are missing out on the speed!
