great device,but read my review. – Improves a weak wifi signal many times stronger. I had 1bar of sigmal,with this divice i received full strength and went from locating 2 wifi routers to receiving 20. One problem is the divice uses two usb jacks and i am using a macbook air,it only has one usb port on either side of laptop,cable lenght on eng wifi booster isnt long enough to reach both sides so i used ext cable. Another issue is with apple only. After updating to maverick operating system there is a error message that the eng wifi booster consumes to much power and temporarily disables usb port until you unplug it. Maverick is advanced and not compatible with this eng divice,i confirmed this with apple and engenious tech support.i am looking into possibilities to restore to previous op system, mountain lion,otherwise the divice does its job well. I recommend it.

Fantastic for distance, WPA2, etc,etc, etc – Up and running quickly under Windows 7 32bit using G-mode with WPA2PSK to a Engenius 5610 G-mode access point. I purchased this adapter to replace a 200mw Senao B card. I tried another usb adapter from Encore, but it just didn’t go the distance. The EnGenius gives me a 98% signal strength, when the other Encore card couldn’t even connect.

A definite improvement! – Installation was only slightly buggy. Each time a different signal is used you will need to double click on the desktop icon and select the signal desired. My home wifi is password protected so I need to dig out my acess code each time I return home after using a hotel or municipal wifi. Not a big deal.

Not happy with the product or the vendor on this one – Product worked great for a month. At some point it would still connect, show 100% signal and link quality but would never get more than about 14kb/s speed. I tried on 2 different systems with the same result. I plugged in a different wireless adapter and speed was fine. Clearly a problem with this adapter.

Interface less user friendly, failed after 9 months – Have been using the predecessor, EUB-362, which let me know quickly on my pc’s task bar what the connection level was. The 9603H does not. Didn’t notice an appreciable difference in connection speed with current wi-fi hot spot at the Marina at which our boat is moored. Otherwise, footprint is identical and it is a one-for-one replacement. Unit stopped working at the nine-month point. Luckily, had the old EUB-362 EXT to replace it, and I’m back online.
