Setup—ugh—but useful – Rule number 1, you must ensure your router is broadcasting its name or you’ll likely not find a way to get this to work. It took 3-4 hard resets of this extender to finally get everything set up right. I plugged it in right next to our basement smart TV and connected to it. The connection is much stronger than it was attempting to hit our Google Fiber router directly, which led to much better streaming performance on the TV. A speedtest yielded about 64 Mbps vs the 500 Mbps fiber connection, but the stronger signal still made this a worthwhile endeavor. Once you get this set up, it really is a useful device.

Included Instructions weren’t all that clear, but quick setup nonetheless – Have a router on one end of the house on first floor, and signal is spotty to none-existent on opposite end of house on the 2nd floor. This booster is plugged into a hallway receptacle on the second floor, pretty much in the middle of the house. Setup from cell phone was fairly painless. My recommendation is to go back and watch the install video on the listing page, rather than try to follow the written instructions that came with, which seems to have some ambiguity. I actually forgot the video was there, so just willed my way through the paper instructions. Anyway, I am now able to get a consistent signal at the farthest end of the home on second level. Seems to jump between full signal and just under that, but connection is stable for video conferencing so I’m a happy camper. If developers are reading this, I suggest just putting a QR code or web link in the box, for folks to navigate to the setup video. At the very least, they’ll have a high-level overview of what to expect in the setup process, but beyond that I think it’s just easier to follow.

Works well for iPhone user – The instructions that come with this have screenshots showing setting it up using an iPhone. So for me, an iPhone user, the setup went pretty smoothly. That being said, the instructions aren’t great for every user, and they were still a bit confusing for me, even with an iPhone.

Was able to set up extender and router with WPS buttons. – I read the directions and watched the video. I couldn’t seem to duplicate what the video was doing on my cell phone. I gave up. I plugged the extender in an outlet as close to the router as possible. Then waited 30 seconds. The power light and in my case the 5G light and the 2.4 G light came on and we’re green. Press the WPS button on the extender and the router. If a connection is made the extender light will come on. If it is green you are in a good location. My green light came on but I needed to move the extender. I unplugged it and moved it down the hallway to another room. When I replugged the extender in the green light came back on. Just for a test I moved the extender to another outlet and I got an orange light so I moved it back to where I had gotten a green light. I don’t need to add other electronics for now. This delivered a signal for an old TV far from the router in the living room. I am happy.

Great little device… – This is a great wifi extender once you get past the set up. As the quick manual is not the most user friendly when your not familiar with such products. I tried doing the easy way which was pressing my routers WPS button and the extender WPS button but it didn’t work. I had to set it up via my phone as the quick manual shows. It wasn’t difficult but i assume some might find it a little hard to understand but other than that it works like a charm. I had a couple of dead zones in my house that I wanted to address. This extender fixed the delayed connection to my living rooms smart tv and my Ring doorbell in the front porch no longer struggles to connect. The whole connectivity issue would drain my Ring battery quickly. I was charging the battery more often than I would like to admit but the extender took care of that. I definitely give this wifi extender two thumbs up as it’s small but mighty. You won’t regret getting it.
