This fixed my wifi problem! – I bought this to fix a wifi connection issue on a chromebook. My built-in wifi could barely pull in a wifi signal from my router that was in the opposite end of my house. I took a chance on this external wifi adapter, and am very pleased! No more dropped connections! I plugged it in and it works great! I had to use a usb to usb-C adapter, since my chromebook only has usb-C connections, but I knew that when I purchased this wifi adapter. This think is great, and it is a bargain!!

Poor Linux Support Broken Firmware and Driver links – Didn’t test on Mac/Windows but drivers weren’t present for Ubuntu. To get the drivers searched through a bunch of dead links and even tried to compile myself but all failed. Terrible firmware and driver support. Likely not secure. Tried another distro and the drivers were present and the wifi signal was decent. So for something that may or may not be secure, may or may not work I took away two stars. Based on performance it would probably work fine on a windows or Mac.

Plug and Play – This thing lights up blue when it is working….it is simply plug and play…I tap into my neighbor’s wifi at his um rging…and this thing stopped the jitteriness of watching his TV spectrum app and it did improved the internet performance with things like Utube videos. When you buy it you simply plug it into the USB on your laptop. I have an ACER chromebook which is a very basic laptop. This thing really improved the bluetooth wireless headphones that I had because I had read on the internet that bluetooth can slow down wifi reception…and it does slow down wifi because when I turned off the bluetooth on my ACER chromebook, the performance did dramatically improve….so I purchased this USB dongle stick adapter to enable me to use my billboard bluetooth wireless headphones….and Shazam….my headphones started working great and my Spectrum TV app on my neighbors TV started working great….It lights up blue when it is working….sometimes there is no blue light…because sometimes it is not needed….but it definately improves your wifi experience….definately worth the money!

Works with Chromebook – Decided to try this on my Acer Chromebook when it appears the wifi card quit. Just plugged it in and so far it’s working great. It’s only day one but I will update if anything changes.

Truly Plug and Play for Chromebook! – This little device is truly amazing. I have an old laptop that I wanted to turn into a Chromebook using CloudReady, but the internal WiFi card died. Most external WiFi adapters require Windows drivers. For less than $20, I was able to plug this in and my newly-transformed Chromebook immediately recognized it and pulled in a strong signal.

Mine broke – It’s pretty hard to do something wrong with a USB dongle (beyond the inevitable first failed attempt to put it into its slot) but somehow I managed to split open the cover of the USB plug. I have no idea exactly how this happened. It’s difficult to say if this damaged its performance because the reason I’d purchased it was I was chasing a WiFi signal problem. Installing it after gluing it back together didn’t fix my signal problem, but leaving it installed just added another variable to my problem, so I tossed it out and used a known good antenna from another unit. I eventually fixed the problem but frankly, I’ve forgotten how by now.

Didn’t work for me? – All the information about the item was way over my head. I’m still trying to find the right adapter for my TV. Don’t know how to explain what to look for. The Wi-Fi dongle was good quality and couldn’t ask for a better price.
