Excellent accessory for slightly older computers – If your computer does not have built-in blue-tooth for your wireless peripherals (headphones, webcams, etc), this device may be just what you’re looking for. Easily plugs into a standard USB port. My wireless headphones work perfectly with this little dongle.

Pretty Good Range – I have had several other Class 1 Bluetooth USB transmitters in the past. This one does not make the specific claim to be Class 1 and in fact only states that it supports about half the range of a Class 1 transmitter. That being said it performs comparably in my work environment. I work in a large cube environment, so it is not completely unobstructed but I mount the USB adapter over the top of my cube wall and I can get close to 40m transmission distance before the sound on my headphones start to break up. It is a little weaker than other transmitters that I have had going through walls but in general seems to perform very well. I use this adapter with a Windows 10 computer and it was plug and play. I did not have to install any special drivers or software. It looks like it comes with Blue Soleil software which I have tried to use in the past with other adapters and I cannot recommend the software. The adapter works great without it under Windows 10.

Do not buy – Finally got it working in Windows 10. Use the included CD and do not download anything from their site. If the installer tells you there is a new version of BlueSoileil, do NOT update!

Works with Linux and Raspberry Pi – I’ve got this for my Home Assistant setup running on a RB Pi 4 and it works fine, the dongle immediately detected by bluetooth show command without loading additional drivers. The Pi’s own bluetooth has a very short range. This dongle has a much wider range. My Pi is hidden inside the kitchen cabinet and it can still reach my outdoor BLE sensors from Xiaomi in the garden (soil & humidity testers and temperature sensors).

there are better ones out there – figured being Tripp lite it would be a good adapter but it barely will connect through a 1/8 sheet of plywood, walk 10 feet away and it disconnects. up close it works great. only reason i did not give it one star

Weaker Bluetooth signal than my iPhone 7 – Unfortunately, the range and power are not what I expected them to be after having carefully examined the listed product specifications. It’s easy for your shoulder and arm to COMPLETELY BLOCK the signal from less than 2 meters away!

Product may state that it’s Windows 7 compatible, but you’ll have a few mismatched USB device issues to sort out. If you manually change the drivers for each one to a Microsoft Enumerator they will work fine, and won’t give you errors. I have not experienced a smooth file transfer processes with this device. My HP BT adapter supports a wide range of BT abilities, and just works. I would probably not buy this one again, but eventually it did “do what I bought it for.”
