Fantastic unmanaged 2.5 gbase-t switch – Very simple to set up and very quiet operation. I prefer the cables to come out one side and lights to be on the other but for the price this is a fantastic switch. The back plane fabric of the switch is 25 GB which means every port can do 2.5 GB in and out guaranteed. On average I am seeing 270 MB a second between two machines.

    2. F. P (verified owner)

Solid. Does exactly what you expect it to do. – What more can I say? The picture speaks for itself. I tested 2 devices connected to this switch which is connected to the 5Gbps port on my AT&T Fiber router. I have the 2Gbps service, so with the cushion, boom!

    3. G. C (verified owner)

Good, but missing parts and front power plug clutter – Like other reviews…. Good performance, bad design and missing parts. As was mentioned, the front power plug location is a bad idea. Just means more cord tangles. Also, my kit had a cheap DC power plug with an even cheaper plastic European snap-in adapter with no US plug or adapter included. It uses a standard 12V 1.5a DC plug, so you can probably come up with it rummaging around the house like I did. Using CAT8 cables and I’m getting excellent throughput otherwise. A-

Didn’t work with my Orbi router very well – I have a new Orbi Mesh WiFi router that supports 2.5G ethernet, so I decided to update my switches to TRENDnet Unmanaged 2.5G Switches. Unfortunately, the switches weren’t entirely compatible with the Orbi. For example, my Orbi has one satellite that is hardwired, and it uses ethernet for the backhaul rather than wireless. When I connect that satellite with TRENDnet switches, I actually see two satellites appear in the Orbi app. They both have different IP addresses. That’s not supposed to happen.

Works great – I’ve been using this for a month or two and so far no problems. It does what it’s supposed to do and the speeds I’m getting from the three devices I have plugged into it (2 PCs and a playstation 5) have been fine.

2.5 Gig and beyond – no problem – Simple and easy to use non managed switch. Worked well for my multi gig Frontier fiber home internet service. Easily achieved local LAN speeds at 2 gig and beyond. Pair it up with a 2 gig NIC and you’re ready to run without a bottleneck inside your home after subscribing to 2 gig broadband service.

Trendnet doesn’t spy on you – Network hardware is a perfect place to insert spyware to capture everything you do on your devices. And many Chinese brands of networking hardware do indeed phone home with your personal data sometimes to an extreme degree. But Trendnet is actually certified by the US government to NOT spy on you and they are based in the USA. So they’re a much safer choice if you value privacy.

Works – I’ve only had this unit for a few months. With these consumer-grade switches, problems don’t usually start until after you’ve had it for a few years, then ports start going bad one by one. Since I haven’t had this for very long, I cannot say how good or bad it is, but so far it is connecting devices on my network at the advertised speeds.
