Solid 10G router – no drama – I was pretty happy to see TP-Link come out with a 10G WAN/LAN capable router. I paired it with a TP-Link TL-SX1008 8-Port 10G Unmanaged Network Switch, and a Sonnet Tech Solo 10G Ethernet adapter at my laptop.

Good future proof router, but at a high price. – Router was easy to setup with just an Ethernet cable connection to my PC, (I didn’t need to use the Tether app). The range is enough to cover my 4000 sq ft home including 2 floors and a basement. My ISP is a 300Mbs plan and my transmission rates varied from 380Mbs on my iPad to only 15Mbs on a Roku in the furthest corner of the basement. By comparison my 10 year old LinkSys ea6500 router had rates of 340Mbs to 18Mbs in the same setup. So it honestly wasn’t much of an improvement going from a $35 router to an $500 one. The only real improvements were in the range, and the support for ax and wifi6e bands.

Good speed, easy setup, long range – I really don’t need all this has but I recently upgraded to 1gb internet, so went with this unit. It was easy to setup and speeds are fast on all bands for Wi-Fi as well as the cat6 Ethernet I connected to 4 devices. I have an acre of land and it covers the entire area with, of course, some deterioration but still very usable.

separate ssid for all 3 bands – this router let you set different ssid for each bands. i have bought another brand, they only allow a single ssid for all bands and i returned it, my wifi6 devices connected to wifi6 5ghz instead of 6ghz most of the time. why am i wasting money on wifi6e router? i use different ssid for 6ghz on this tplink, and my wifi6e devices will always connected to 6ghz.

Great Router. Great Price. – I’ve used TP-Link routers for years. They make great quality routers for less money than you pay with other brands. This model is powerful enough to handle a large number of devices connected to it. It’s super fast and never drops connections. The only thing that I don’t like about it is that there is no option to include the 6GHz band in a single network with the other bands. So you have to have at minimum two seperate networks when using this router (one for 6GHz and one for the other bands). I’m hoping TP-Link will improve that in a future firmware update though.
