Not good with Linux – I used this product with T-Mobile (& MVNOs) in the USA. The cellular performance is OK. However, despite the product info saying it works with Linux, I don’t recommend it for that. And woe to you if you need support.

So far, so good. – While I am optimistic that this thing is going to do what I wanted, I will revisit this after I have used it more.

WiFi is not stable and gets frozen now and again – The modem was very easy to setup, got connected to the Hologram network via T-Mobile in no time. The 4G signal was very good and connection to T-Mobile was stable. However, the WiFi had not worked well: in just a few hours, all my devices suddenly disconnected and could not find the network again. Numerous hotspot reboots and factory resets did not help, the wifi connection was unstable and hung up again after a few hours. Perhaps this particular device was faulty, but since I missed the return date anyway, I didn’t pursue a replacement and just decided to cut the losses and try another access point with a seemingly better chipset.

Works great but dead overnight – This small USB WiFi works great with a Google Fi sim card without requiring any configuration.

Better than most on T-Mobile 4G – I’ve tried messing with all the setting from APN to TTL and I can’t get it to go higher than 12mbps. Take out the same sim card, stick it into my Galaxy Note 9, and I get full 150mbps. I guess 7-12mbps is good enough to take teams video calls.
